This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). For 50 years, the CFDA has been the leading trade organization in the American fashion industry. To celebrate, over 100 pieces from the CFDA’s most renowned members, including Bob Mackie, were asked to lend some of their most iconic pieces to an exhibit commemorating the milestone at the Museum at FIT in New York City. Bob Mackie is lending a bolero and a beaded gown to the exhibit.
The Museum at FIT is located on Seventh Avenue at 27 Street, New York City 10001-5992. The exhibit opens to the public on February 10th and lasts until April 17th, 2012. The Museum hours are Tues – Fri: Noon – 8pm, Saturday: 10am – 5pm, closed Sundays & Mondays. For more information, visit: www.fitnyc.edu/museum.
