Hello Mackie lovers! As we struggle through winter with one big storm after another we must rally on and believe that spring will come! Let's fantasize, shall we? What is your favorite thing about spring? Mine is a pergola that we have in the front yard. It's covered in wisteria and in the spring for about three full weeks there are tons of lovely, heavenly scented blossoms all over it. This is Ivo, myself and the kids standing in front of it last Easter.... currently it's covered in snow! Just when I think I just can't take it anymore,...

How much longer? That is what we have been saying this week at my house... for several reasons. First of all because little Mr. Groundhog apparently poked his head out of his home to announce more winter days ahead... and then there was storm Maximus that swept through last week. Oh, that was some fun! I was in New York City to attend the New York Gift Show. It was not too bad there, but getting home was nearly impossible and I came home to no power and several casualties in the yard. Here's a look at my poor trees...

What's the temperature where you are? Currently it's 12 degrees for me with a wind chill below zero. This is what they call atypical weather for our area of south eastern Pennsylvania... thank goodness. The snow finished in the middle of the night topping off at 10 inches. If it was not so cold I would consider a day of sledding, but we wouldn't last 10 minutes out there. What is one to do with some young kiddies who are cooped up and climbing the walls? Bake of course. We brought out the mixer and whipped up a bundt cake...
